Curlew Cymru – A Project Update
April 23 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Tuesday 23rd April 2019 at 2:00pm, arranged at short notice, we have Rhun Jones a Senior Warden with our AONB togive a talk on the Curlew Cymru Project. This will be at the Loggerheads Meeting Room
Sadly, the Curlew is under threat. It is now considered to be the most pressing bird conservancy priority in the UK . It is “Red Listed” on both the Welsh and UK Birds of Conservation Concern. (The picture shown was taken near Penmon in Anglesey in February 2019.)
Rhun has in the past taken our members to hear Nightjars and led a search for the rare Llangollen Whitebeam tree on Eglwyseg Rocks. He will be leading a walk for the Denbighshire Out and About Programme later in the year in search of “curlewing” Curlews. More details of this to follow.
