Old Mine Shafts and Trimm Rock Quarry, Cilcain, with John Bowen
October 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Sunday 4th October 2020, meet outside the Trimm Rock Quarry, Cefn Road, Cilcain for a 4 mile walk around the quarry and nearby old mine shafts with “Friends” member John Bowen starting at 10:00 am. A nearby post code for the walk start location is CH7 5HR.
The meeting place is on the roadside verge close to the entrance to Lloyds Spar Quarries Ltd.. John has prepared a map showing best route from the A541 Denbigh to Mold road.
The walk will be subject to UK and Welsh Government guidelines and registration will be essential. We have chosen to limit the walk to 15 attendees at present even though Welsh Government guidelines would allow up to 30 on an organised outdoor activity. Our interpretation of the guidelines is –
All walkers to confirm they have no COVID-19 symptoms (a high temperature, a new continuous cough and the loss, or a change to their sense of smell or taste). They will also need to affirm that they have not knowingly been in contact with an infected person.
As Walk Organiser, I will need to keep a record of everyone’s contact details in case of “Track and Trace”
Number of walkers overall to be no more than 15. (Welsh Government limit is 30, but we have chosen 15 to recognise the conditions of the walk.)
Walkers will need to maintain Physical Distancing throughout the walk
Walkers should carry a mask in case of incidents.
Where possible avoid touching stiles, gates etc. There are stiles and gates on the proposed route, so it is suggested that walkers carry personal hand-sanitisers or wear gloves
Walkers are advised not to share food, drink or equipment with others outside their household.
If any walker develops Covid-19 symptoms after the walk, they should apply for a Covid-19 test, inform me and support NHS contact tracing.
Subject to all the above, the walk will be open to anyone who wishes to join us, first come, first served.
To book please get in touch with me, Neville Howell, Events Secretary of Friends of the Clwyd Range and Dee Valley on 01244 535173, 07850 921295 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To book I shall need your contact details to hold for the ‘Track & Trace” service which hopefully will not be required.
