Re-Arranged Snowdrops at Chirk Castle

February 17 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

You will recall that Hazel’s event at Chirk Castle on 9th February 2019 had to be cancelled at the last minute due to the forecast of high winds. It has been possible to rearrange the event at short notice. Hopefully the snowdrops will have waited for us!

The castle staff advise that there is currently work going on in the visitors car-park so please try to arrange a car-share.

The planned details of the day remain the same but the date is now Sunday 17th February 2019. So the revised details are –

Snowdrops at Chirk Castle with Hazel Bloomfield.
Meet at Chirk Castle National Trust Visitor Car-park
Sunday 17th February 2019 ay 10:30am or 11:30am (see below)
At 10:30am, Hazel, a member of FoCRDV, will lead a short easy walk of about 1 hour, from the National Trust Visitor Car-park in the estate lands of Chirk Castle. Then at 11:30am she will return to the car park and proceed through to the gardens and woodlands which we hope will be carpeted with snowdrops. If you don’t want to join the short walk then you can arrive for 11:30am.
Entry will be free for members of the National Trust, (NT) and Members of Friends of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley, (FoCRDV). If you belong to NT please bring your membership card as Chirk Castle wants to record the “footfall”. If you are not a member of NT but are a member of FoCRDV then bring your FoCRDV Membership card for free entry. If you are not a member of either then there should be a charge but I will try to negotiate free entry for those joining Hazel’s group.
