Friends of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley have been pleased to be part of a successful bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for funding towards a Landscape Partnership Scheme that will focus on the outstanding landscape of the Dee Valley and the Pontcysyllte aqueduct and canal world heritage site.
The project will celebrate the area’s connection to the Picturesque movement and the views painted by Turner and Richard Wilson. It will also undertake conservation and practical work to restore the heritage of the landscape and tell people about it. The project is entering a development phase which will last around a year and a half, with the project starting around 2018, subject to receiving a further green light from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
