We arrange events and activities to enable people to discover, enjoy and protect the heritage of this beautiful landscape.

Our events are open to all members normally free of charge, and often open to members of the public who are interested in finding out about the area.  We actively use Eventbrite, and ask those who wish to attend to register so that we can ensure the correct safeguards are in place.

At present, we have events running each month. We hope you will enjoy the varied events calendar.

If you have any ideas, or would like us to consider organising something on your wish list, which reflects our aims of sharing the AONB – please contact us and we will endeavour to make it happen.

Rydym yn trefnu digwyddiadau a gweithgareddau fydd yn galluogi pobl i ddarganfod, mwynhau a diogelu treftadaeth y dirwedd hyfryd hon. Rydym hefyd yn hyrwyddo digwyddiadau tebyg eraill yn yr ardal.

Mae’r holl ddigwyddiadau’n rhai cyhoeddus, ond gofynnir i unrhyw un sy’n dymuno gwneud hynny gysylltu â ni.

Friends Visit to Denbighshire County Council Tree Nursery

August 3 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free

Visit DCC Tree Nursery for a guided tour, with an optional nature reserve and beaver enclosure visit, weather permitting.

Join Friends of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley for a special summer visit to Denbighshire County Council’s Tree Nursery.

This will be a lovely opportunity to learn more about the work taking place locally to grow and support native trees, biodiversity and landscape restoration across Denbighshire.

The visit will include a guided tour of the tree nursery, with the opportunity to hear more about how the nursery operates, the species being grown, and the important role tree planting can play in supporting nature, climate resilience and the local landscape.

Weather permitting, there will also be the option to continue on to the nearby nature reserve and beaver enclosure with Liam, giving attendees a chance to learn more about habitat creation, wildlife and nature recovery work in the area.

Planned activities

The visit is expected to include:

  • A guided tour of the DCC Tree Nursery
  • An introduction to the work of the nursery and local tree-growing projects
  • Optional visit to the nature reserve and beaver enclosure, weather permitting
  • Time for questions and informal discussion

The nursery tour is expected to last around one hour. The optional nature reserve visit may take slightly longer, so please allow around 2–3 hours in total.

What to bring

For the nursery visit, please wear sturdy footwear and bring a sun hat, water and any snacks you may need.

For the optional nature reserve and beaver enclosure visit, wellies are recommended, although hiking boots may also be suitable depending on the weather. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing.
